calhoun honors college application info?

Looking for any info on the Honors college application. What does it require? Essays?

Also, on the process: if you sent teacher recommendations with your admission app, do you need to again submit them separately for the honors college app, or can they get them internally. (Might sound like a silly question, but isn't, trust me.)

Also, if you have any insight into criteria, that would be helpful: is it primarily grades & scores, or primarily ECs & "leadership", or the essays, or ?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have no idea what is on the application (I never applied). I’m guessing from the wording that you would have to resubmit your teacher recommendations but I would ask admissions about that.

It does say this on the honors college website: " In recent years, the typical admitted student has had an SAT score (combined critical reading and math) of over 1400; has earned very high grades, ranking in the top three percent of his or her high school class; and has demonstrated on his or her application clear and solid evidence of intellectual engagement and vision; leadership and service; and co- and extra-curricular involvement."

Thanks. I’m trying to get info beyond the boilerplate on the website … they all say the same things  What is is written and what is done in practice tend to be different.

For instance, suppose all the applicants have something like 1550-1600 SAT (CR+M), are in the top tier of their classes (in good schools), have some reasonable involvement in activities, what is used to distinguish between them?

I had the same question about teacher recommendation letters, so I e-mailed them. They said that when you submit your regular application, you’ll get a link to give to your teachers and they have to make an account on some website and submit the letters there.
