According to the new framework for the 30 units needed for California CPA licensure, we need 20 units of upper division level accounting courses.

My question is: Can these 20 units be part of the 120 units that I needed for my BA degree? or are they 20 ADDITION upper division level accounting courses?

Thanks.

My understanding is the 20 units can be part of 120 towards your BA/BS degree.
I think the easiest way to understand this is:

Curr requirement -
within 120
24 accounting
24 business

New requirement -
Within 150
-30 accounting at least (24+6)
-24 business
-14 upper ( the combo of acct, business and other upper skill based )
(other skill based capped at 9)
-10 ethnic

Island, the 6/7 meeting loosed the new requirement to only min of 6 units of the 20 must be upper, not all 20 of them.

Oh I see. Thanks a lot for explaining the new rule to me.

Can someone else verify this as well?

clarify* I meant.

We don’t know what the new requirements will be yet. The board will not make a decision until summer of 2012. I am lucky I probably won’t have to meet the new requirements.
