California College Choice

I had a 3.2 freshman year 3.4 sophomore year and 4.0 junior year. I live in social and would like to stay in state particularly in San Diego, but I heard UCSD and SDSU are pretty difficult to get into, what do you think?

without an SAT/ACT it is hard to say for sure but, SDSU and San Marcos would probably be happy to have you. UCSD - you’ll need a 4.1+ GPA to be competitive applicant.

First you need to calculate your CSU/UC Capped Weighted GPA using only 10-11th grades: https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

Then you need to list your SAT/ACT test scores along with HS course rigor, Intended major and EC’s.

SDSU admits by eligibility index and major. The EI is calculated as follows:
(CSU/UC GPA capped weighted x800) + (SAT Math+EBRW) or (CSU/UC GPA x200) + (ACT composite x10)

An EI of 4100+ SAT and 1050+ ACT can be competitive for most majors.

For UCSD, GPA/Test scores/HS course rigor/Personal Insight essays and your EC’s will all contribute to your chances along with Intended major.

Here is the UCSD Freshman profile for 2017. For the best chances you want to at or above the averages listed and these are not major specific.
