California schools chances?

Hey, I was wondering what are my chances of getting into any of the schools listed below. I understand that I am going to have to bring up my scores, but I was wondering how much or whether or not I still have a shot.

My Top to Bottom
UC Irvine
UC Davis

Applied and most likely going to get job at Quickly

UC Irvine--Reach
UC Davis--Reach
San Diego State--Slight Reach
Cal Poly SLO--Reach
Cal Poly Pomona--Match
San Jose State--Match
CSU Long Beach--Match

Also, if you take the "F" off the total (and therefore have around a 3.35 to 3.4 WGPA), you probably are a Match to Slight Reach at UC Santa Cruz and UC Riverside. (Probably need about a 1650 to 1700 SAT to be a "match")

(Generally, the colleges will discount the F and count the community college course if you retook and got an A).

Best of luck.

UC Irvine - reach
UC Davis - reach
San Diego State - slight reach/match if you bring SAT up some
Cal Poly - reach
San Jose State - match
CSU Long Beach - match

UCI/UCD/CP SLO-Reach
SDSU-Slight Reach for good programs (ie. business)/high match for everything else
SJSU/CSULB-Match
Convert your GPA into a UC GPA if you think that's worth a shot (doubt it). If its your freshman year that killed your chances the most, you will be glad to know they don't consider it. SAT is very low. You could try for an 1800 if you want CP SLO for nonengineering/business programs. I agree with Calcruzer; you can get into UCR/UCSC if you try and up your SATs. UCMerced might be willing to accept you as well.

Good Luck.

Im sorry, Im new at all of this. Im assumming reach means very hard chance or something negative. Like i'm really trying to get into UCI.

so im assumming i have no shot? what happens if i get a 2000 on the SAT and get a 4.0 this semester? will i still have a shot for UCI?

Senior year grades do not affect UC admissions at all. If you could get a 2000 on the SAT, that still wouldn't bump your chances down much. Again, since it seems that you really want to get into UCI/UCD, I'll ask if you know how to convert your GPA into a UC GPA. Take off freshman year grades, and grades from nonA-G courses (such as PE, health, etc.) from sophomore and junior year. Then weight accordingly. If you need help, post your grades from sophomore and junior year up here so someone can help you with it. If there's a significant change, you might still have a chance.

Peppers, i sent you a private message

Thanks Peppers. My UC GPA is a 3.2.

UCI is a reach, but try to pop your EC out. that way, it could appeal to the admission officers a lot.

if u have a faceboook account take a look at this... (<a href="http://uci.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=2250222294&topic=2547%5B/url%5D">http://uci.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=2250222294&topic=2547</a>)
ppl from uci 2011 class posted their gpas and sat scores
i took at quick glance at it... someone got in with 1490... some people had 1500-ish with gpa of 3.5...

i have a friend who got in with 1500-ish on SAT1...

I would say... retake SAT1 and do really good on SAT2s then u might have a shot ;)

If you look at the UCLA c/o 2011 group, a girl got in with a 2.9. It's that wild less than 1% of a shot that gets you in kind of thing that goes for them, but no one on this forum would reasonably be chancing someone based on that, lest everyone be a match for Harvard.

okay, im going to bump this post again. My list of EC's changed, schools preferred and here are my rough estimates of my SAT/2's/ACT
