California Transfer student to CSUSM... Admitted already?

@smurray–it took then 2 days to respond to me. And still says completed application… congrats @sbvet!

@UCkat I’m scared its too late though, since transfer students are already getting decisions. I think this is the week for everyone to get decisions, and I’d feel terrible if my #2 school choice is a denial also.

@smurray Let’s not give up hope just yet!

@UCkat Trying my hardest not to.

@smurray, have u received an email response regarding the last class you had to take?

Here’s what they said:

Hello,

We do not need this transcript until all grades have been posted for this semester.

Ok! So now what?! We just wait and wait… At leat we both got responses and they know we are not robot applicants. :stuck_out_tongue: i am making an assumption that they are admitting in-area transfers (even though I live and go to a sd cc my cc is not an in-area) first then see who will accept and then let us know?

You should get something soon. I know she said the end of March, and technically this is the end. So we should be getting something soon? I hate how these CSUs do things. It should be transfer students first and it shouldn’t matter where they come from as long as they’re from California. It’s so hard to transfer anywhere, where I live. I only have 1 school that’s close to me and I still haven’t heard from them. This is getting very frustrating for me.

Hey congrats @SBVett! Finally something came through! Are you going to go there or are you still waiting to hear from SDSU? I say stay in North County if you can haha…

Thanks! I’m still waiting on SDSU and a couple of UCs. The SIR for CSUSM is June 1st, so there’s still time to decide. It’s the first one I hear from, though. I’m still pending everywhere else. And why would you stay in north county? I love big cities! :)

@UCkat89 I guess they don’t understand what I’m trying to do. Here was their response today. I was just telling them that in my app I said I was completing 3 but now it’s only 1? Maybe I’m the one who doesn’t understand lol:

Hello,

Once the spring 2013 semester ends, all of the classes that you finished within the spring semester time frame should post on the transcripts. Please check this with your Registration and Records office.

@smurray, I’m pretty sure they understand exactly what you’re saying. But for them, the spring semester is still in progress, and even if you took 6-week classes or any version of a class shorter than the whole spring semester, CSUSM still considers that class as being from the spring semester and they only want transcripts for that in June/July. I don’t think they will add anything to your application at this time. You shouldn’t worry, since they know what classes you were taking for this spring (however long they might be) from your planned classes. I have a feeling they will release every decision until this Friday (SDSU promised to, and I can’t imagine csusm taking longer). Stay patient for a few more days! :)

@smurray I agree with @SBvett. They do understand and as long as it is done or will be done (the class) by the June 1st final transcript deadline than you will be fine. Thanks @sbvett for that info.

Ok thanks guys. Wasn’t sure how that worked. Yea, hopefully by this Friday. & hopefully I get accepted. :)

Is there a difference in the quality of education between csusm and sdsu?

Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2

Has anyone got accepted from the San Diego Community college district or SWC? I’ve applied from Mesa College && I’m sick of waiting!!!

@monique I’m at Mesa also–still waiting.
And I believe that the quality of education is similar to that of SDSU; it’s more noteworthy to mention the learning styles. Csusm is more hands on, smaller class sizes vs sdsu is lecture style

Would you know which institution is more respected my employers? Would you say it’s about the same?

Generally speaking, SDSU will have the better overall name recognition since CSUSM is a relatively newer school. However, when viewed from just the local area, it will depend on the program of study.

But at the end of the day, it all depends on how you apply yourself academically, socially, and what type of internships or work experience while in school.

Hey guys, I just check mycsusm and it says I’ve been admitted. No email or letter just update application. Hope you guys hear soon!
