So I just got back from spending 3 days with 4th grade students on a camping trip, but while I was gone, the Admissions Officer who reviewed my application called my house and started talking to my mom about how my application stood out and how my essay was excellent and "really showed my personality."

Did anybody else get a call like this?

I was pretty impressed. From what my mom said, it seemed like the Admissions Officer really seemed to 'know' me.

Yes! My son got a call from admissions, as well. They commented on how “fresh” his application was. He has found them to be incredibly nice in all his interactions.

Its called yield management. :p

Ok, I’m clueless. What does that mean? Treat your admitted students nicely so they’ll enroll? Or something else? :-)

^Pretty much. That doesn’t mean they’re lying, however!

sbj - they are wooing the admits to show up. It is a bit of personal touch telling the parents how much they liked your kid.
