I just called Nat'l Merit to be sure they had received my son's info from the school and found out that it has not been received. The man was very nice and said that some of the gc's are missing the "submit" button and to call the school. When I called our school, the gc said she had sent it but when she checked with me on the phone it said "not transmitted". She is calling them to find out what to do. Hopefully, I will get worked out but regardless, I'm glad I made the call.

Glad you made the call!! We had some issues with the GC at our school not “getting around to it”. I called NM daily until they were able to confirm it was received. One thing that each of the people I spoke to there told me was that they check all the kids’ files about Nov 1, and if it’s not there, they (NM) call the high school to see what’s up. I think this first year with the electronic submission has thrown a new wrench into the system for some, but it was reiterated to me that a student will NOT be penalized for a school’s missing the suggested deadline.

It’s also very reassuring that NMCorp is flexible when these “hiccups” occur. :)

The GC called and said she finished it all. She was very apologetic and thanked me for checking on it. There were 3 sections that she had not completed and that was why the transmission failed.
I’ll call tomorrow and be sure that it is received but she did say that it went this time and that she made me a copy of all of it!
:)
