Calling all Russian-speakers in the class of 2011

Okay, this is kind of a selfish post, but I'm currently signed up for a class with an absolutely AMAZING Russian professor, but there are only three people in it at the moment (both of which I'm tight with, and let me say, they're awesome). They're going to cancel the class if not enough people sign up, so I just wanted to give it good press. Russian 123 is a class on Russia Today, where we'll discuss topics confronting contemporary Russian society, including, like drugs and AIDS and corruption. The prof is super-lax, and let's you turn in homework any time before the end of the semester. She's really understanding, makes the class interesting, and has pretty much the most gorgeous Russian I've ever heard. She's really encouraging and made my Russian improve tremendously. She's only at Tufts on Monday and Wednesday (Tuesday and Thursday she teaches, I believe, graduate courses at Harvard...yep, that's right, a bona fide, real life Harvard professor), but still makes herself available. I'm really hoping they don't cancel the class, so y'all should sign up for it!

It's particularly great for native Russian speakers, because then the assignments are all easy enough that they take barely any time at all. I always did homework 15 minutes before class. As far as work, it's as if you're not taking a class at all b/c it's so simple to get done.

Anyway, yall should take it! Russian 123 with Professor Tanya (Tatiana?) Gassel!

^ how have you already signed up for classes?

I'm a rising junior at Tufts, and when you're already enrolled, you register about two-thirds of the way during the previous semester. We always complain about it b/c registration tends to happen around midterms, so it's like, I'm not even halfway done with THESE classes and already have to pick new ones?

Freshmen will register for their first semester during Orientation, with the help of Orientation Leaders and advisors who give advice on classes, schedules, and the requirements you have to fill. But come November, you'll register for spring semester along with everyone else on campus.
