Calling all WashU merit scholars

Please post your stats and ec's if you are a Florence Moog Scholar or any other recipient of WashU merit aid.

I'm an "Olin Scholar"; however, I'm not sure if that's quite on the level of the Florence Moog Scholar (don't you have to interview for those)...I got just above 36k in scholarships plus student contributions.

My stats, as copied from the Decisions thread:

I created a (text) website linking to various essays/graphics/web design for my application. In my application, I detailed specific awards I won.

Honestly, I think my essays were what sealed the deal for me...

Congratulations on being named an "Olin Scholar". Did you fill out a seperate application for this? It seems like you didn't need to interview for this scholarship.
I would like to hear from other merit scholars from WashU.

Honorary scholars will typically have at least 34-35 ACT (over 2300 SAT), great ECs and essays (very important).

I applied separately for the lien scholarship for arts and science (i'm also majoring in poli sci). Didn't win. But I do think my essays for that scholarship competition did play a major role in my Olin scholarship. Then again, I really have no way of finding out...

If you look at the scholarship thread somewhere on this board....a lot of people get scholarships of some sort.

I was named an Ervin Scholar.

Everyone has these stats. The essay, in my opinion, is the most important factor in selection, followed closely in importance by the interview process.

im a moog scholar and one of the professors interviewing me told me my local TedX Talk in my research was a big factor in their selection process. I think because it showed that I had actually enjoyed and learned from my research experience. BTW all the Moog Candidates 2013 had substantial research experience.
