is it possible that the phone calls go out to 1st gen. college students?
my son is caucasian and not 1st generation college student.
SAT: 2110 UW GPA: 3.75 UC GPA: 4.1
Got a call; really excited:
In-State
SAT (SS): 2150
GPA: 4.3ish UC GPA (school has 4.6 but I’m damn sure our inefficient administration has it calculated incorrectly)
Ethnicity: Hola, me llamo Juan
Major: Nanotech w/ Chem. E
Anyone getting calls confirming Regents scholarship awards? I know I sent my FAFSA in late, but I’m just wondering if they’re actually going through with notifying with calls. It’ll be a deal-breaker for me since I got into GaTech but I know their financial aid will consist of two packs of airline peanuts.
Oh and congratulations to those accepted! And to those sweating over a lack of a call–don’t. I’m losing my mind over Cal Poly’s indecisiveness (pretty sure I got rejected) and it’s not doing me any good. I guess it’s a give and take.
So has everyone already been notified? @Xenmas021 Congrats! Haha my school messes up everyone’s GPA too. Is your last name more on the Z side? I was accepted to cal poly a few days ago, but I’m more on the A side.
@stressed4lif I got a call today for Mechanical Engineering. I’m in-state (obviously considering my username). Yes, I am considered a minority and I have an ACT of 28. Hope that helps others, good luck everyone!
has any international applicants currently living in the U.S gotten a call?
Call Me Maybe UCSD edition
Just found out that the number on my application does not match the number i am using now… no wonder why there is no phone call… guess i will have to wait for another week…
do u guys think i should update the information now?
Does UCSD only call through the 858 number to inform students in the calling campaign? I got a call around 5:40, from an unknown caller ID (I wasn’t around to pick up) and I was wondering if it could be another student calling to inform me of some possibly good news. But, this could also be just a coincidence. I was just wondering if it was possible
D just received a call from UCSD alumni. She’s in-state, UC gpa 4.48, UW 4.0, 2210 SAT, she checks the Hispanic/Caucasian boxes and wants to major in comp sci.
@ferdinand32 Don’t think so. A person at my school got the call yesterday from an unknown number.
(I myself still haven’t gotten a call)
@WhipeeDip yay there’s hope! thank you so much
In case anyone is wondering, they do call back if you missed their call.
@JoeGoe the next day?
Missed the call yesterday but they called back today. The lady I spoke with didn’t mention whether or not I got my major.
OOS
Major: Applied Mathematics
Ethnicity: Hispanic
SAT: 1970
GPA: 3.98 UW not sure about my UC GPA
I know I’m a little late, but I got the call 2 days ago. I live in California, I am hispanic, I am majoring in Biochemistry, my SAT Scores are 600, 580, 570 and my UC GPA is a 4.2 (I know it’s a little low, but hey it got me in so I’m happy). My strengths I believe were my essays and my extra curriculars, but my weaknesses were my GPA and SAT scores. Good luck to everyone!!!
Did anyone who got the call get told which college they are going to?
Congrats to all who got in!!! I have a few questions: What time did they call you at? If you missed the call did they leave a voicemail? If you missed the call, is the number they called from a private/blocked number? That’s my only questions.
Once again, congrats!!
@potatoman1010 They called me around 6:30 and I know they called some of my mates at like 6. I don’t think they leave a voicemail, but I believe they end up trying to contact you again the day after they contacted you originally. The number they called me from was a 760 number so it was not private or blocked. Hope this helped!!
