Calling Campaign 2015

You can and should try to relax: The first wave of the calling campaign was, as stated, for URM students. Exceptionally high-achieving non-URM students like your son can expect to be called later.

FWIW, because my in-state, non-URM daughter interviewed last week for the Regents and Chancellors scholarship at Berkeley and earlier received Regents scholarship offers from other UC campuses, I think that it’s likely that she will be admitted to UCSD–but she was not contacted in what was clearly described as just “the first of the series” of UCSD calling campaigns.

@bpatient‌ - thanks! I will try to be your namesake
BTW - congratulations !! Thats wonderful!!!

Just got a call, accepted as regents. Non URM

@karnier congratulations!! Do u mind posting your stats and major? Again congrats that’s a huge achievement!!

@Karnier Did they call your home phone number? Congrats, by the way!

@greatlake Yeah, my stats are posted here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1744991-chance-for-top-privates-ivies-duke.html#latest I applied as Econ/Comp Sci (engineering)

@sjsprint the number you provided on your UC application, so my cell phone

Wow those are impressive stats! Thanks!

Congratulations @Karnier. I hope to get a call soon as well.

@karnier congratulations! My son got accepted as regents by UCI, and I am hoping UCSD will call him.

My son (non-urm) got a call telling him he was admitted to bioengineering/bioinformatics with regents!
I wish everybody waiting, get good news soon.

@eth0up At what time did he get his call?

@IAmTheGOAT - ~7:30pm

@eth0up Thanks, and congrats to your son. I guess at this point, I’m hoping for the bet, but expecting the worst!

@IAmTheGOAT - it is only first day of the week… have faith. Either way you will be fine.

My daughter got the call today as well. I think they are just starting the non-URM calls.

My D does not answer calls from unidentified callers. I am going to tell her to answer all calls this week. Who knows…

does not getting a call mean you are not accepted? because people at my school have already received calls, but i haven’t been called yet…

biting my nails right now, especially because I’ve applied to the medical scholars program and don’t want to get screwed over without priority registration for classes

@dreamingbig48 No they don’t call everyone. Just minorities, regents/ scholarship people, and the top 30% of students admitted.
