I got a call from UCSD three days ago during the URM wave and then another yesterday? Could that mean that I also got Regents? I unfortunately missed both calls.

So, I just got a call…and when I saw the 858 number I panicked. I took a few seconds to catch my breath but I think I waited half a second too long because when I pressed “talk,” it clicked off!! I googled the phone number and it gave me a UCSD faculty member…
Do you think they will call back??!!
Or should I call the number?
D received call this evening around 6:30 PST re acceptance to UCSD. No mention of Regents though. Very encouraging!

The call tells you about your acceptance and also offers this free overnight program thats 2 days long on the UCSD campus. I asked and you have to find your own way to get to UCSD though.
Got the call today at 10pm EST! Anyone know if they will 100% mention Regents scholarship in the call, because they did not in mine? Also, do we know when we receive official word for any financial aid?

@Curlyllama There is a chance that they will call you back. I was personally called three times over four days, but I was only able to answer on the third. When I tried to call back they did not answer.
Female, Chinese, applied to civil engineering/neuroscience (not sure which I got into?)
my uc gpa was 3.7 I think? And my SAT score is 2200 with 710 in physics and 770 on math 2c. My essays were meh at best but I did have several clubs and I was in varsity tennis.
Are they going to continue calling or is this it?
4.0 uw, 4.56 weighted GPA. 2280 SAT, 760 math 2, 730 chem, 730 math1, 690 us history. Above average ECs w/ leadership and work experience. Can anybody gimme a chance? I thought I’d at least be a top 30% candidate…
I got an 858 call yesterday (around 7:30 pm) but I was unable to answer because I was driving! Today they called back around the same time and let me know that I am admitted!
@IAmTheGOAT Major? They call by major (that’s what my caller told me), so it depends on when they call everyone that is majoring in the same thing as you.
@lespronoms Oh, thank you, and I’m a computer science major in-state. That’s a relief, unless they called out computer science already…
@IAmTheGOAT I’m afraid that they may have already called CS majors. My friend in the same school already received his school day before yesterday (monday). Not sure if he’s Eng. CS or L&S CS.
I found out yesterday, after reading this thread, that my Son got a call from an (858) number on Thursday, March 5 at around 4pm. We obviously missed the call but I Googled and called the number and it belongs to an Admissions Officer at UCSD. They have not called back. So unless they called to tell him he is missing something or they want additional information, which I doubt, I believe he is admitted based on what people have posted here.
I believe this call was made during the URM calling period. We are Mexican and Jewish, so I guess double URM. He is first generation American. However, I believe he merits admission regardless of ethnic background.
His stats:
Major: Mechanical Engineering
UC GPA 4.38
SAT 2280
APs - 14 by end of High School
AP Exams - All 5s, some 4s, one 3
Awards - National Commended Scholar, State Champion in a engineering related EC, MIT Summer Scholarship
Extra Curricular - Only three but very involved in two all four years and three in the other. Leadership position in all three.
