<p>i don't know what to think now.. it's like one of those things you know will very likely to happen, but you just hope and kinda lie to yourself telling yourself that it will not happen... with 5% admission rate, i kinda knew i won't get in.. i still hoped... i don't feel as bad as i would have otherwise felt has i not been deferred by Princeton... the ED deferral taught me a lesson too... it is very disappointing.. but that's life :(</p>

<p>PW, if it makes you feel any better, I'm in the exact same situation as you. I also know its pretty much impossible for me to get into MIT, but you should be proud that at least you applied. Remember, there are other colleges who will be more than happy to take you, and if u still really really really want to go to MIT, there's still Transfers. Work your ass off in freshman college and apply again. I know that's what ill end up doing when I'm going to a Pakistani Univ in a few months lol.</p>
<p>PD9, perhaps the guy who told you the info is the otehr guy who got in lol. MIT has 10,000 people applying, but my chances of getting in are 1 in a million</p>

<p>now dont give yourself ANOTHER false sense of security... you know no one gets off the waitlist unless the sun decides to rise from the west or something....</p>
