Calling or Emailing Admissions Offices.

Well if I want to check if a school received my application materials do I have to call them or can I email them instead?

For schools with late December/early January deadlines, you should wait until the end of January to make sure your materials are in. Often, materials aren’t processed into the system until then. Additionally, many schools will provide you admissions checklists, so there may be no reason to call.

Don’t call, you’ll just annoy them. As long as your main app is in, it’s fine. They’ll tell you if you’re missing something. They’ll probably provide an online thing to check your materials in a few weeks.

For one of my colleges they said they haven’t received my High School Transcript and my guidance counselor sent it December 1st, and I am just really worried. So should I call that school to see if they received the transcript.

They receive tons of application material. It takes a while to sort it and put it in the system. Most schools have an online status system that will tell you what they have/don’t have. If the online system says they don’t have it, there is NO USE in calling- Anyone you talk to will have no idea where it is, and just tell you it probably hasn’t been sorted yet.
