Calling SEAS applicants, post ur stats

yeah but isnt wharton a lot more respectable...

respected by whom?

once you have a job, people (such as your coworkers) will not generally care which undergraduate school at penn you attended, or even that you came to penn at all; part of the allure of wharton is that it gives you the connections to get your foot in the door at those great firms, but those connections are often available to all students and alumni, not just whartonites past and present.

okay, so you mean to tell me that Wharton really isnt more prestigious, or better regarded than SEAS?

sure it's respectable. that's why we're #1.

the point is that one need not disregard the other undergraduate schools as being capable of propelling their students to equally successful careers, even in the same fields.

yeah but business ppl from Wharton make more money!

haha ^ duhh they're business ppl. they started out making more money than the poor cas kids when they applied to college!

huh.....umm dude get with the program and check out www.upenn.edu/wharton
it seems as though you are a pace behind, my friend

i guess i am. lol. that's why i just deleted my post. lol. and that link isn't working

haha i didnt mean to sound mean....but yeah u are allowed to transfer

magnet, you are wrong

Look at the college average and wharton average salaries. There is a gap. Granted. But a college student with a high GPA can get the same job as a Wharton student gasp And they don't have to major in econ gasp Yes, it's true. The reason for said gap between college and wharton salaries? Well, some college students pursue careers that they like gasp and don't care about their salary gasp and most Wharton students go into business where there is more money. Hence the gap.

I know, I know this whole post is bs. I mean, who does a job that they like? Money is everything!

that's a painful sarcasm  >_>

no wonder Bongo23 isnt a Wharton student. Doesn't have the aptitude to even realize what success means to most people.

Holy. Crap. All I gotta say.

So the majority of students at Penn don't realize what success means to most people? lol...

The point is that Wharton and three other schools differ mainly by interest in undergraduate study, not so much by quality. Sure, wharton is more selective and has a slightly stronger study body, but the point of wharton is for an undergraduate education in business, not as some short of superschool inside the university.

explain the contention that most Wharton students have arrogant attitudes towards other ppl then

most don't have arrogant attitudes towards others. if you were here, you'd know that.

besides, you seem to be forgetting that nearly all wharton classes can be taken by any undergraduate, regardless of school affiliation.

also, perhaps you could explain the concept that money necessarily equals happiness.

haha tenebrousfire you bring up a good point. realize i have a pragmatic view on life where $ = happiness

um, ever heard of decreasing marginal utility of wealth?

i refer you to this article:

http://www.forbes.com/work/2004/09/21/cx_mh_0921happiness.html

and i seem to recall a beatles song along the lines of "can't buy me love"...

i'm not trying to say that money isn't important, but your worldview may be enriched when you realize that money is part of, but not the sole variable in, the equation to happiness.

haha i like the fact that my controversial words have turned this post into a philosophical discussion :)

its not philosophical, love. i thought the human race decided long ago that materialistic morons were not worth much in the world... or am i wrong? do we need to go over that again for you?
