CALS Deferred

Do not lose hope.

APPLY to other schools, both reaches and safeties

Send in a letter of interest some time in January. Outline WHY cornell is right for you! Make it clear you are still interested!

Perhaps send in another letter of recommendation

Guys, it’s not over. I know plenty of people who were deferred and are either at Cornell or will be when their guaranteed transfer has been completed cough (me).

I know how it feels, but it could have been worse. PM me any questions you have. I would be MORE than happy to help you guys out.

I did all four things mentioned, and it worked out for me as well. Got a letter of recommendation from my school principal vouching for my "character," and also sent a letter of interest in January.

^ hah! my principal called Cornell with me sitting right next to him, and he gave a verbal recommendation. it was pretty neat since at first i hated the man. then again, half of me just thinks he wanted me to get in so that we had an ivy acceptance, but I prefer to not listen to that half.
