Okay, you're overthinking this way toooooooo much.

isthatcatfish - I just like to be prepared :)

i'm a transfer student, and transfer SO is one day.

so my review would probably only apply to transfer students, since we've already got a bit of experience with college life/services at our c.c.

are they taking your pic for thet cal 1 card? when?

dragongirl113>> for transfer students at least there was no scheduled time to get it. just show up to the ceaser chavez building in your spare time with a picture ID and have your photo taken. its near Sproul Hall.

In the normal session there was a scheduled time. In the morning of the second day we had a time to go with our group.

There was a scheduled time for us to get our Cal 1 card, but I think the office might have been open before we arrived there (and still open afterwards, maybe). You give them your ID and you take your picture on a blue backdrop; you then sign your signature on a digital reader and ~5 minutes later they give you your Cal 1 card with your picture and signature printed on it.

i Wish i drew a smiley for my signature. :)

Ha, yeah, my signature came out kind of funky, and my picture looks kind of weird. But getting my Cal 1 card was an exciting thing for me; once I got it I really felt like I was now a Cal student.

When do the classes we signed up for via Telebears appear on our Bear Facts? Also, what does it mean when it says "You are not on the Degree List for the FALL 07"?

yea, too bad the cal card is to last us all 4 years! :(

My photo looks bad, as usual. haha

and no clue to the telebears question, I'm in the same boat. :)

Haha my signature looks bad too! I could never sign well on those electronic screens. And then my picture came out weird too... but heck, it's small so it's okay.

You don't get to SEE your pic and get to change if you don't like it???? Are they not doing digital? Geez, you can even get the pic changed at the DMV!

Beatchick - Yeah, you don't get to see how your picture turned out until you get your Cal 1 card. Also, I didn't know that my electronic signature was going to be printed on the Cal 1 card as well or else I would have tried to be MUCH neater (and perhaps put a little star or something in there :) ). I guess now that you know ahead of time about what's going to happen you could ask to view your picture, but there was a rather long line so it still might not happen (MAYBE if you're at the end of the line...).

Oh yeah, and don't wear a hat for your picture as it is apparently against university policy (one kid had to re-take his picture because he wore his hat).

The people who take your picture get to see it before they make your card. If you asked them they might let you see how it turned out ahead of time. The reason I know this is because I accidentally blinked when the picture was taken and so they made me take it again right after.

takes pictures

girl at cal 1 counter: is this picture fine? turns screen

me: .... i look drunk.

her: okay, lets do it again.

I am going to the one day transfer Calso on the 21st. Since I plan on showing up the day before, can I just walk in and have my picture taken a day early so as to save time for other things on the actual Calso day?
