<p>I'll be there! Do you think a lot a people are going to bring a guest? I don't want to look like a loner but why would I bring my mom for $100 when she is essentially getting the same program as me?</p>
<p>I'm coming by myself from the LA area.
I also paid the extra 31 bucks to come a day earlier since I don't see how i'm going to make it at 7am.
If anybody wants to carpool the day before June 10th, lemme know.. I'm from San Fernando Valley.

<p>no way am i bringing a guest. the only person that would even be remotely interested is my mother and i don't think she has anything to do w/making friends or figuring out if i could wake up at such-and-such time to make it to this certain class.</p>

<p>probably i will drive there the night before orientation n spend that night in a motel nearby berkeley...... it's difficult to go by flight coz then u need to rent a car too... gonna cost a lot!!</p>

<p>You don't need to rent a car if you fly to Oakland or SFO. From Oakland take AirBART to the BART station, and from there, take the relevant train. From SFO, take the BART train going towards Pittsburgh Bay Point (stops at all stops between SFO and MacArthur, through downtown SF, at least), then transfer at MacArthur to the Richmond train to downtown Berkeley. All of the info you'll need is on BART</a> - Bay Area Rapid Transit District. </p>
<p>Driving might be more of a pain as you'll have to look for parking in a very crowded, very confusing town. Once you get to your hotel/motel, you can take a taxi to campus, if necessary, it will be about the same or less than paying for parking/gas, assuming you are staying in Oakland, Berkeley, Albany, or El Cerrito.</p>
<p>or, bat your eyelashes and find a friend to stay with in the area.</p>
