I'm going on July 13. Anyone else with me?

Ahh, for those who already went. Any advice on what to do beforehand and during?

Much thanks, I'm a bit nervous about Calso for some reason?

My advice: if it's hot, bring lots of water. Try not to get too exhausted or bored, although that may be impossible.

Also, keep in mind that you can go online and get your advisor code for telebears at ANY TIME during your CalSO day. You could register for classes at lunch if you wanted to.

Bring an iPod and a pillow. Oh, DON'T read the ls-advise website beforehand like they tell you to; then, you might not need the aforementioned items.

For all the time I spend here on CC, I actually think I have a lot to learn at Calso. I really need to talk to my counseler about switching majors and whatnot.

I'll keep that in mind. Though I think the classes I want won't be any where near full.

Also, what is the attire for this deal? Casuallllll?

Ahh, damn is that boring huh? Oh wells, I had to go up to Cal anyway to look for housing (still no housing offer from university...oh wells)

ha, I wonder if people come to Calso faded.

I had a lot to learn at CalSO too; unfortunately I learned almost nothing. The program is one-size-fits-all and will hardly address your personal concerns. It's a great lesson in Cal bureaucracy.

Still nothing from housing? Have you called? I'm sure you could check up on that at CalSO.

Darn. I was hoping to talk to a counseler about the impact changing my major would have.

Mrmuir, I've given up at this point...haha...I've always wanted my own studio anyway. Its gonna be grand.

"Does hung over count?"

HAHAHAH, Kudos. Please tell me you drank it up with our roomies at Peoples.

Haha, actually, my mom and I drove down the night before, and my mom, refusing to stay in the dorms, got us a hotel on the Berkeley Marina. Anyway, she was out by like 11:00, and I wasn't tired, so I went down to the bar and drank with these business-types. They really got a kick out of me, even though I wasn't really trying to be funny or anything. Kinda weird. So yeah, 6:30 AM was tough.

mrmuirc, do you know your housing situation yet?

hahahahaha, thats hilarious. I bet you went by your username when you were talking to them. Haha, are you even twentyone? or were they just lax on carding?

Yes, I'll be in a double in Channing Bowditch. They're probably a different situation with the leases and all, so I figure that's why they were a couple days late.

I'm 21 now, but I wasn't at the time; I had ordered a drink at dinner with my mom and they didn't card me, so I thought I'd push my luck. Oh, there's a tip: bring your mom. They'll almost never card you.

Hahaha, my mom woulda yelled at me. Damn, I wish I was 21.

You wanna have more fun bring me as your guest :p

90% of what they tell you is info you probably already know, so the only good reasons to go are to meet some people and to ask your student counselor everything you want to know about student life.

I'd say make sure you stop by the transfer center because they have some really informative packets. Don't wear a sweater/jacket cuz it gets hot in the afternoon. Try to get your Cal1 Card during the free time after lunch so that you don't waste an option waiting in line. Pray that you get a group that's open to meeting new people :)

The attire is anything you want btw.

Sweet. I really only signed up because I want a facebook picture with the Chancellor. I wonder what the chances of that happening are....

hahaha, I hope so too. I have no idea what the Cal1 Card is but I will try to obtain it after lunch.

I'll prolly get wild and wear some UCB gear.

You go to lower sproul to take your picture and get the card. A line will form after lunch but it's not that bad.

Cal1 is the Berkeley ID card. A lot of people say to get it when school starts but don't you want an official ID now??

hehe, I will flash my CalID like those FBI agents in movies where ever I go.

I am stoked.
