my friend told me that if i turn in my SIR a little later than everyone else, like…around the twentieth it might affect the classes i choose cus of CALSO? umm is it a really big deal if i dont turn in my SIR right away?

lets put it this way, you guys are incomming freshmen, which means you have pretty much last priority in terms of picking classes, now you can't sign up for calso until you turn in your SIR, thus, the later you turn it in, the higher the chance that you won't get to sign up for an earlier calso date.............and you really don't want to try your luck competing with 5k+ of just your own fellow class peers =)

thanks, i just turned in my SIR and my calso, got the earilerst date =)

if we're not 100% sure we're going to cal, can we still send in our SIR anyway just to get a Calso date? And if we end up not going, then we just forfeit the deposit money.

um, i highly suggest you not to do that

Yes, that is a very shady tactic.

augh... my school doesn't even END till the 23rd or something HORRIBLY stupid like that (they make our school year start earlier and end later EVERY YEAR... because they're trying to "gradually" make it year-round). so... the EARLIEST CalSO date I can go to is like 28th or something like that! What do I do?!?! Am I going to be severely disadvantaged? Should I miss school (it doens't really matter, ap tests will be over and we'll just be wasting time with lame projects and the like) and go to CalSO in the beginning of June?

Try to go as early as possible. It will just make you feel better to know that you've got your classes and aren't waitlisted on every single one.

So I should just miss school?

yea you should, cus i'm missing school haha i'm missing graduation practice

"June 6-June 7, MTu Open | $185 Open | $185
June 10-June 11, FSa Open | $185 Open | $185"

What's the difference between MTu and FSa? And I have school both June 6th and 7th, but only June 10th. How important is it that I get the absolute earliest date possible for CalSO? Thanks.

early as possible, but not worth ummm, missing graduation practice over =)

what's CalSo , im guessing some orientation thing and why do dates matter?

i have to miss school to because there are only two dates for me to go to b/c i'm in the college of chemistry. The last date - june 24, 25 is my graduation so i have to go june 13, 14

I registered for June 6-7 :)... I don't graduate until June 15, so I hope I don't miss anything important (although I doubt it)

ah thats the spirit, go to the earlier ones.......

Just remember folks that though we are the last people to register for classes, most seniors and juniors are not really registering for Chem 1A, Math 16A or 16B, etc.

What's the difference between MTu and FSa?

OMG I'M SO STUPID. MONDAY TUESDAY/FRIDAY SATURDAY. WOWOWOWWOW CAN ANYOEN ELSE BELIEVE CAL ADMITTED ME? lololol.

lol, well according to the Chancellor, as a class, we're the smartest bunch in Berkeley history lol

but really, does anybody actually have a demographic/ethnic/academic breakdown of '09?
