<p>Anybody have advice/comments/experience about the premed program at Caltech vs. UCLA? If the financial aid package is equal?</p>
<p>Wow, Caltech and UCLA are polar opposites. Huge school vs. small school, public vs. private, social life vs. not much social life, diverse vs. mostly male. I’ve heard that the entire Caltech freshman class is smaller than some of UCLA’s general biology classes. I’m not saying one is better than the other, just they couldn’t be more different.</p>
<p>I am wondering about this too, because Caltech and UCLA are both near where I live.</p>

<p>Cal tech is focused mainly on engineering, which makes getting a good gpa hard. And previously posted,grade deflation.</p>
