Campus/Area Surrounding!

Hey guys,

How is the Emory campus? Is it big/spacious?

And the dorms as well? Are they actually nice for all 4 years? What is the Clairmont campus exactly? :/ I'm so confused about what that is.

Also, how is the area immediately outside the campus? Like is there a little college town with nice restaurants/shops? Or something else..? Oh and if someone could tell me about the Emory Village and what that exactly is?

Haha I'm really sorry for asking so many questions! I just really want to know the answers to these questions, it would be really helpful :) Thanks!!!

-Emory’s campus is just the right size IMO…it takes about 15-20 minutes to walk from one end to the other end of campus. I am now a senior and seriously took til now to appreciate how BEAUTIFUL it is here. I have gone to visit other friends at other schools and lemme tell you, Emory’s campus is one of the prettiest I’ve seen.

 • The freshman dorms are AMAZING!! In the last 3 yrs, Emory has built 5 new dorms and they are seriously like hotels. Sophomore housing isn’t bad and Clairmont is upperclassman housing. It is about a 20 minute walk to campus, but there are shuttles that go from Clairmont to main campus. Clairmont is sooo beautiful!! I live here now and there is a pool and the apts are really nice and people call it the “country club” or “resort” as a joke cause that’s how beautiful it is.

-Emory Village is right next to Emory, really close, all the freshman go there b/c it’s right there and they can’t have cars. There are restaurants, a CVS, etc. Emory is actually in decatur (although they use the atlanta zip code). Decatur is a really nice area w/ a lot of shops, restaurants, etc. Atlanta downtown is like 15 min away

Emory is in Atlanta, not Decatur. Emory and Decatur are both in DeKalb County (while most - not all - of Atlanta is in Fulton County). Some of the area around Emory is unincorporated Dekalb County. Some of DeKalb County (including Emory) was annexed by Atlanta some time ago. It was probably all about money, if I had to guess.
