Campus Beauty

How does Cornell's compare to other Ivies?

Cornell is absolutely gorgeous but that’s entirely a personal opinion. I visited Harvard and Cornell this summer and did not like Harvard very much. Google and YouTube exist for a reason.

Those pictures make me want to get accepted so badly D:

the only other Ivies I have seen are Penn and Princeton and I think Cornell’s campus is a lot more beautiful for a number of reasons. you can see Cayuga Lake from the top of the slope, and the hills off to the West are always awesome as well. that alone would be enough, but you also get the bridges over the gorges and the waterfalls. and there are a lot of decent-looking buildings. I also like the farmland scenes when you head East out of campus. and the plantations are extremely nice looking in the summer months, and I imagine they’d make a decent stroll even in the winter.

I’ve been to Princeton, Columbia, Harvard, Penn, Dartmouth and Cornell (visits)
Cornell has some really beautiful buildings and I love it. The area around Cornell is amazing!
Princeton I think was the most beautiful campus.
Dartmouth has a nice small town feel and is great. I don’t think the buildings compare to Cornell or Princeton but a very special place.
Harvard has a beautiful setting along the river although the campus is not as well defined as Dartmouth, Princeton or Cornell (more of a city setting like Penn and Columbia) Harvard has some really beautiful buildings too.
Columbia is very much a city setting and my personal least favorite but I do not prefer a large city setting. The buildings are beautiful just too much city for me.
Penn is also a city setting with some beautiful buildings. Again a city setting not really right for me.
Each is very special. I chose Cornell because for me it was the best fit personality and career wise. Now I just need to get in!

Cornell IS gorgeous. Totally.

Cornell…Four years later (sons will graduate this year) and I am certain it will always be one of my favorite places to spend a long weekend. It is one of those special places that you must return to.

As an aside, I just looked that “Ithacation” blog again, in the 4/8/10 entry he’s got video of the big Arts Quad snowball fight D2 mentioned, must have been fun.

You also get to hear the clock tower chimes in the beginning.

Monydad, thanks for the references. One of the “Ithacation” pictures is positively breaktaking.

a “gorges” bump…
