Campus life Wake Forest

I am looking for some information about Wake Forest. Is there a current or former student who can comment on the academics? campus life? what's a "typical" student at WFU?

No one has any information?

Ok so im a former wf student who transferred out after 1 year, so maybe I can help a little. The academics are top notch. Most of the professors are really knowledgeable and passionate for their fields, and the small size allows for more individualized attention. In my time there I only had 2 TA’s, and those were both for labs for intro science classes. However, this individualized attention means that the professors can choose to screw you over on each individual test/paper/assignment if they want to, and many do. The nickname “work forest” is totally accurate, and the grade deflation is real. If you’re thinking of going to med school or some other competitive graduate program, this is something to keep in mind. It is borderline depressing how many people end up dropping out of the pre-med track because their GPA’s and/or social lives wouldn’t survive. As for campus life, there is a group for everyone, but the greek scene definitely dwarfs all the other organizations. Your freshman year it will feel like everyone is rushing, and most of them are. Although ultimately only around half the students pledge, it feels like much more than that. Your first 2 years, if not all 4, will probably be heavily influenced by greek life. This is a good thing for some people, and not as good for others. And i guess I would say a typical student is wealthy, white, preppy, leans to the right politically, and loves their hard liquor. Obviously not everyone falls into each of these categories, but I would say that very few students dont fit at least 2 or so, and many do fit all of those descriptions. I also should mention that almost all the students are very smart, hardworking, and goal-oriented, despite their drinking habits! They are also generally very friendly and social, so long as you are willing to to get out of your comfort zone and make an effort to get to know them. It can be a little intimidating at times how cliquey the school is, but the majority of them are very nice people. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions!

I appreciate your feedback very much
