I was wondering when the Campus Preview thing is for admitted students, should I receive acceptance to CAS, and when they send the letters. It says early April, but often people say that they always seem to send them on X date. I will have little time to visit colleges if get accpeted, so this info would be very useful to me. Thanks.

Bimpity Bumparoo

"Cornell Days" runs from April 7th to April 18th. This is the period when they have specific programs geared toward accepted prospective students (and their parents) on campus.

Are there different program dates, or is every day within that time span the same. Unless I get into HPSM, (and if I get into Cornell) I will have to get up and go real fast. I have never visisted there before, and I live in Minnesota, so it will be a hike.

Jerew,

Go to "Uncle Ezra" and search on Cornell Days - he's got lots of good info. Here's one of his answers from last year:

"Cornell Days, April 8-19, is not an official orientation, but there are sessions for students and opportunities for them to stay in dorm rooms with host students at Cornell. Prospective students may attend classes with host students. There are some sessions for family members and for all of you together. Parents may explore the many activities on campus and in Ithaca. This program is sponsored by the Admissions office who will be mailing information to all accepted students April 1st in time for registration for the program on April 5th. It's another step in the long process of letting go - we hope to make it a manageable one for you."

When you get accepted, they'll send you more info.

You MUST visit the campus. You'll be blown away. You cannot make a decision about Cornell vs. anothe school without visiting Cornell.

As others here will agree, Cornell is unique in is beauty and awesomw physical plant.

Yeah, that's what I hear. I am nervous about making such a weighty decision that quickly! Like I said, I would probably not visit for long if I got into Stanford, so hopefully that will pan out. Cornell seems to really be awesome, but my decision will be easier if I go with my dad's alma mater. Hopefully I will at least be admitted to Cornell!

In case you don't know about Uncle Ezra...

what the heck does bump mean. why does everyone say it. i am so clueless with this cc language

Hah, I remember the days before my CC addiction. No really, get into the boards, it is fun.

Bump refers to moving a thread that has fallen back, and putting it at the top of the list of threads. Say, if my pathetic "what are my chances" post is forgotten, I annoyingly bump it so that people will see it again at the top of the list. I need the moral boost, but I often bump threads that still have legit questions on them that need answers, namely this thread.

BTW, when do I become a Member?

bump - bring up my post

yeah i love uncle ezra, he's the man
