HC is about 20 minutes from downtown center city and is an open campus that attracts many people onto campus. In this setting, anything is possible.

Regardless, it’s very safe (can walk campus at night) without too much concern.

The surrounding area, primarily Lancaster Ave, is a busy street so it’s safe to walk at most times… perhaps except in the middle of the night although my friends and I use to go on midnight WaWa runs back in the day. It’s a pretty wealthy area… there’s a Ferrari dealership 1 mile from campus and plenty of great restaurants within walking distance… whether a student can afford to go to such places on a frequent basis is another issue. Plenty of affordable good places as well. I recall an IHOP and a Starbucks within a 5 minute walk of the main entrance. The coffee in Lunt cafe was better though…

Thanks. Son was looking for options to quickly walk outside of campus to get a breath of fresh air, you might say, a change of pace. Not a bar since his is not an imbiber of alcohol, but cheap little sandwich / coffeeshops. restaurants probably not the right word, places that poor students can go to get away off campus w/o too much effort, cost , or time. Even a park, maybe ; and ideally a hot zone.
