I will be visiting Penn’s campus for the first time next week, and I am wondering if there are “must-do” or “must see” things to occupy my time on campus. I plan on taking the tour and other information session type things, but is there anything else I should do to get a better feel for the school?

Eat a cheesesteak from a truck.

ask questions during the tour. Not to impress anyone, but rather to get your questions answered. It is much easier to just think of a question, but much harder to actually get it out of your mouth. When i viisted yesterday i asked a few questions, and it made me feel better. And i didnt ask anything about gettting in UPenn, but rahter about the actual school and Wharton.

Let me just clear something up before I visit campus. You don't need a reservation for a tour/information session correct? Can I just show up and begin without prior notification?

yes you can. Remember that durign the weekend, i know of this only for saturdsay, the information session starts at 11 and the tours are right after the information session at 12. It all should end at around 1.30

"Eat a cheesesteak from a truck."

No; eat a cheesesteak at Pat's, Geno's or Jim's.

Don't wander into the freshman quad. I got nabbed by a security guard.

actually it might be advantageous to do a little snooping. If you ever get caught where you're not supposed to be, feign innocence and a bad grasp of english.

"No; eat a cheesesteak at Pat's, Geno's or Jim's."

Sure, if you have time to go to South Street or South Philly, that is definitely preferable.

How could you not have time?

So which do you think is best? I prefer Jim's.

I've only had Pat's, but it was goooooood.

Can't wait to try 'em all.

sit in some classes to get a feel of the coursework.

If you want a good sample of Penn's food...

Lunch: Grilled Chicken from Hemo's (Truck, 37th and Spruce) or Anything from Bui's (Truck, 38th and Spruce)

Dinner: either anything from Greek Lady (Restaurant, 40th and Locust) or Chicken Sukayaki Soba from Koja's (Truck, 38th and Walnut)

Also, don't touch the button or especially the statue of Ben on the bench. Trust me, you don't want to know.
