So I received the invitation to Smith Open Campus and Discovery Weekend. I will definitely be going in April, who else is going?! :D

Also I have a question, will our expenses be covered if we only attend Open Campus? In the letter, it says that it will be reimbursed up to 500 dollars but in the attached brochure it says that only Discovery Weekend is covered (so if you only go for Open Campus it's not covered?)..

Thanks! Hope to see you all there :)

smith covers your travel for the event on the 18-19, i believe

Open Campus/Discovery Weekend is just another wooing event for prospectives, so it’s more for RD admits to decide whether or not to attend Smith. Discovery Weekend is directed towards minority, so Smith will only cover the cost of the student to attend. Colleges try to recruit minority, it’s a pretty common thing.

Can I still be invited if I am an ED2 accepted student of color?

Loverowing12, I’d call the Admission office with your question.

Hi guys, in case anyone else was wondering, here’s the response I got from Smith:
- If you are invited to discovery weekend, Smith will cover whatever it costs if you choose to go.

If you are a STRIDE scholar, Smith will reimburse you up to 500 dollars.

If you just attend open campus, you are expected to pay for your own travel cost.

Is anyone here going? I’m excited!

Yess I am going! But, I have to pay for my adventure Should be fun!

Is there a specific criteria to be invited to Discovery Weekend?
I thought it was a minority event, and since I’m Asian American, I assumed I’d be invited…
I was an early write and I didn’t receive anything in my packet or email :/
