Campuses

I'm a freshman engineering major and I'm transferring to Rutgers next semester. I'm trying to decide where I want to live. Could someone please explain a little about each campus, which is best for freshmen, for engineers? Would all my classes be on Busch?

Any information is appreciated!

as a freshman youre going to have some core classes scattered all over the place, but for the most part you will be on busch. most of the engineering kids i know (and i know a ton) live on busch and are on busch all the time for classes.

college ave- pretty much a city setting, really loud at all hours, lots of drunks on the weekends. if you live to party, you’ll like it here. brower commons (dining hall) is freakin horrible tho

douglass- a lot of girls (it used to be all girls). lots of science and humanities classes here. its pretty quiet and peaceful here, the dining hall is pretty good, theres a dunkin donuts in the campus center :)

livingston- it used to be really crappy, but this year its gotten a lot better, and by next year it will be amazing. all the business classes are here, the new student center and dining hall are amazing, but the quads and towers are not the greatest places to live. lots of drunks on the weekends as well lol.

busch- a lot of dudes. its a lot of math and engineering students. its pretty quiet around here, not too much going on socially either. the football stadium is here, the werblin gym is really nice, and the dining hall and student center are pretty nice. i would recommend this for an engineering student but its all up to you

good luck!

I recommend Busch for the same reasons flyingcrayons did.

The one drawback is how empty it can get on the weekends. Civilization is pretty much nonexistent unless it’s peak meal time lol. My floor emptied out on the weekends last year. But it never bothered me because it allowed me to concentrate on studying, and still be able to hang out with the few friends that stayed in the dorm without much distraction.

Thanks! I actually put Livingston as my top choice because I’ve heard that it houses a lot of freshmen, and it’s not a far bus ride to Busch.
