Can a girl and a guy be best friends?! w/o a relationship?

I have a similar situation. I think it all depends on how long you have known the person and the way in which your relationship has evolved. One of my best friends is a girl I share the exact birthdate with. We discovered this fact in the 2nd grade and have been friends ever since. Becuase we met at such a young age and have been friends for 13 years, I do not see her in "that" way. Because of how our friendship has grown, I see her as my "older" sister (older by 4 hours and she will never let me forget it!) and the idea of our relationship being anything else is almost disturbing.

But if a relationship forms between a guy and a girl at an older age, I can see why the dynamics of the relationship would be so different. They would never have had the time to grow as best friends or like a bro and a sis. So it might be more difficult to push aside those feelings

charizard, don't worry bro. i got a major storm prepared for the world. i'm writing a book titled "the potentially lugubrious sibling relationship." although i have no sibling...what the heck, i love being a voyeur and crtiqueing other peoples like a scientist with his microscope.

hahahe. "freud materializes in the clouds like muphasa". can't stop laughing. charizard, i gotta be honest to u. that was the funniest thing u said in this forum.

now, for the relationship people...i got a message for u: take controul...don't let the relationship take controul!!!!....

Yeah, guys and girls can be best friends. My friend and I have been friends for 3/4 years and even though she has wanted to date and stuff I couldn't becasue I have a girlfriend. She got the picture and stopped trying.
