Can a person with a 3.5 get into an Ivy league school? Say Cornell for example?

Even if it's a reach school, can they do it? Do you think ANY 3.5s get accepted?

Yes

Wait, did u mean 3.5 WEIGHTED?!?!

Cause like, if its a 3.5 weighted… then…

@thegrant Hahaha. NO! Unweighed GPA. Unweighted! A weighted GPA of 3.5 would need recommendation letters from Obama and Santa Claus.

What are your test scores? They would probably need to be perfect (or within a hair of perfect) AND you would need some spectacular ECs.

@intparent Alright. Let’s say 2100 SAT. Maybe 2200. Would that be decent enough? Oh and stellar ECs and URM.

@intparent And a NMS.

URM is a hook, that helps. I would say with a 2200 SAT you at least have a shot.

@intparent Then for once being black will pay off.

@marvelboy2241‌ bro u can go to Princeton if your black and have a high SAT omg I wish i was black u dont even understand.

URM/legacy/recruited athlete 100% chance. If not, you’d need a great essay and a prayer… but it isn’t impossible

And by 100% chance I don’t mean 100% chance of getting in but 100% chance that you do have a good chance of getting in… if that makes sense

A URM with a 3.5 and 2200 will still have a great chance at getting into Cornell, especially if your class rank and course rigor are within range. I don’t want to get your hopes up TOO much, but if you apply ED then you’re all set!

Best of luck!

If you apply ED, you might have a chance. But years ago there was this URM with high SAT 2360(?) slightly lower GPA but much higher than yours, was accepted to Stanford and Cornell. He was not accepted to every college.
