Can a quote negatively affect the essay?

I used a Che Guevara quote.

" study a lot, so that you can learn to dominate the technique that allows you to dominate nature"

Can this affect me, regarding Che's politial positions and ideologies. Although I did not mention any in my essay, I just used it to connect the education with making a difference in society, in the way it is structured.

I don't think it will hurt you that much, seeing as it's not cliche like "a stitch in time saves nine", or something. I was admitted EA and I used a quote in my essay. Only use one to be on the safe side and you should be fine.

hmm i used a saint augustine quote for my villanova essay
does that sound too much like i was sucking up lol

Not at all!

i honestly wouldn't worry - sure it's a jesuit school but for godsake it still IS a college in NEW YORK, so they're probably border-line socialist anyway XD

Villanova is an Augustinian school in PA.

I used JFK's "ask what not your country can do for you, ask what you can do you do for your country" in my essay and i got in!!!

Where did you get accepted to okwjoe?

okwjoe, I thought you said you were thinking about applying to colleges!
