Can a really good SAT II math score make up for an okay SAT I math score?

I have two basic questions.

1) Is it true that the writing section of SAT I is not really looked at?

This might be detrimental to me considering how I always score the best on writing.

2) If I have an okay Math score on SAT I, like a 690, and I get a good SAT II score on math 1c, can it cover for that to some extent? What range numbers should I shoot for if it does? 720? 750? 800?! haha I doubt I'll get perfect but I might get in the mid 700's range.

Haha, I'm in the exact same position as you!
I scored an 800 on writing and was saddened to learn that most colleges don't really place emphasis on it =(

I also scored a 710 on my SAT I Math, and then got a 780 on SAT II Math. All I can say is that since most colleges still view SAT Writing as an SAT II supplement to SAT Verbal, they may view SAT II Math as a supplement to SAT Math..

Anyone else have other thoughts?

a 690 is fine...it's really going to come down to other things.

yea im basically in the same boat...800 writing, 800 math 2c, but 730 SAT I math

pretty much same here..
760CR 750W and only 660M in SAT I.. :-(
Taken both the Math IC and Math IIC.. waiting for the results.. fingers tightly crossed..
