How much does your writing score actually matter?

Writing is my best score and people have been telling me it doesn't really matter...obviously it matters at least a little bit, but are critical reading and math weighted a lot more? Is a high two part more important than a high composite?

Can someone please respond to this, also will a good Math 2 score make up for a low math score?

It seems that many colleges favor Reading and Math, but as long as your overall score is high, even if your writing score is carrying it, you’ll be fine…

And a good math 2 score will help your chances

Pretty much every school asks for it so it is important. It’s unclear how it’s factored in because that varies from school to school. I don’t think a good math2 can replace a low sat math score, because the material is pretty different.

Alright well my math score is still in the 700s just low 700s… and I think I could get high 700s on math II

depends on the college. some don’t count it at all, others less than reading and writing, and even others equally. I hear in the future they may be phazing it out, so that may be advantageous to you. call up your college if you’re not sure. also, yes it will show you are good in math and have a certain level of mastery, but they won’t directly factor it into the sat i scores. many colleges are aware that the sat math 2 is graded very leniently and curved so that many people do get 800s. but it will still be impressive because it shows a higher level of math mastery.
