Can a student take APs online if they attend a private high school?

I attend a private, independent day school of around a 20 k tuition.

I will ask them this, but I thought I might want to know what schools generally do or do not allow.

I wanted to take some APs at this website:
<a href="http://www.keystone.com%5B/url%5D">www.keystone.com</a></p>

It says there, that you can take courses online there no matter what high school you go to and that you will receive credit/grade for the course into your gpa.

I actually took a few APs online when I went to a public high school, but you could only take them there if you went to a public high school (florida virtual school).

Thanks for the help everyone.

Ask your school. Most private schools, however, probably won't accept the credit from an online course. Mine would not accept credit from summer courses, even if they were taken at Ivy league universities.

You don't need the REAL credits from your high school. You can ask them if they'll give you at least some credit for an independent study course, and then take the AP tests on your own. Colleges will admire you as a 'self starter' and one who actively looks for and takes advantage of the available resources. And I'm sure teachers would be more than happy to help you with any questions you may have about a certain topic.

I go to a private school just like that and a bunch of kids take AP classes on flvs.com So I dont know I guess it depends on the school but definitely ask them.

Your school probably won't give you credit but they will add the info to your transcript.
