Can anyone chance me for Wellesley? Will try to chance back everyone who replies!

It would be amazing if you can possibly chance me as I honestly have no idea about this whole college thing haha my grades really suffered this year (I know that this year was supposed to make or break your college app), but a very close friend of mine passed away in a car accident last October, which really affected me.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

I think Wellesley is a high match for you. You will probably get in tbh

I think your test scores may hold you back a little. Truthfully, if you weren’t Asian, I’d say you’re definitely in because your EC’s make up for your test scores. But as all of us Asians know, we have to go above and beyond the normal. So overall your EC’s are great, but your test scores/GPA, if left at where they are now, won’t be that helpful. So spend as much effort as you can during your senior year to get them up!

And if you can write well regarding this experience for you and show how you were able to come back from it (thus explaining the drop in your grades), I think that would be really helpful for you.

A general rule of thumb that I have regarding Asians and admission into colleges would be to see the 25/50/75 percentiles of scores among admits. (if they are available) Try to aim around the 75% mark, which you should consider the average for Asians. Don’t know about Wellesley’s averages, but I’d assume that they would be easy to look up!

Chance me?

Thank you so much for chancing me! :)

About your SAT score - it is NOT bad! Looking at your schedule, I’m guessing that math is your highest out of 800. Apparently writing is the easiest to improve on, so study up! I’m sure you can break 2100. I think that for people geared towards math, CR is the hardest. In my opinion, memorizing thousands of vocabulary words in order to get those three difficult questions right is too much…so yeah, work on writing and math!

I think Wellesley is a mid to high match for you. With ED I’d say you’ll get in. I know a few girls who love Wellesley! Good luck. Make sure to tell admissions about the car accident (and I am so sorry for your loss!).

A huge congratulations for all of your incredible accomplishments! Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t get in. Really. Show this school your interest and make them want you! Write some stellar essays and you’re golden. :)

P.S. I am so jealous that you get to take women’s lit! Sounds interesting!

I think your GPA isn’t that bad actually. Neither are your test scores. For most of the womens colleges, they are concerned with “your story”. I think if you really play up the whole “im a photographer/writer” thing and talk about how you write for the online womens’ magazine and talk about how your photo was on the cover of a magazine, Wellesley will appreciate that. It helps bring out the uniqueness of who you are as a person. Overall, I think you have a good chance at admission.
