I would really appreciate it if somebody can proofread my two essays for Yale. One main concern I have is that my essay for the supplement is too long (~650 words, as opposed to 500).

If you are able to offer this tremendous help, please post here so I can PM you my essays.

My essay was about 700. I thought that, in order to properly say what I had to, it was necessary to go over the limit a bit. The essay is still less than a page long.

My supplementary essay was also over the word limit, however I feel as if the word limit exists to prevent individuals from writing novels. If those 100+ words are necessary, KEEP THEM! I can proof read if you want...

It seems that you guys/girls are all applying to schools this year...That makes me feel a bit iffy sending you my essays. I understand that most of you have already applied SCEA to Yale, but these essays could still be used for other schools. I would really prefer it if a college student read it...

just to let everyone know..i might be wrong. but i know someone who is really good friends with a Yale application reader. and he said that a 450 word essay is much better than a 550 wor done. if it REALLY needs to be longer, then fine..but if you are able to say what you want in fewer words DO IT. the readers dont wanna read long rambling essays. they def. will read it all, but if they get annoyed while reading it, not good. so my advice, trim it as much as possible.
