Can anyone recommend where to buy mattresses on a student budget?

Hey everyone,

Just got accepted to LMU and I'm really looking forward to college next year. I'm hoping to attend either here or some nearby schools and am wondering where you guys purchased your furniture and mattresses for school?

I looked online and a lot of the sites charge thousands for mattresses, let me know?

That kind of money, they PROVIDE you with a mattress- Honest- And furniture.

What you want is a mattress pad- maybe two…Don’t go cheap, get one of the less expensive “egg shell” type topper then one temp-pedic type over that.

The beds are “extra” twin size- You don’t need the sheet “kit” they try and pedal, any TJ MAXX or such will do for sheets.
Buy “straight forward” thinner towels that will do the trick…Anything extra thick NEVER dry in the common area machines.

If you are buying a mattress for some other reason- I suppose CRAIGSLIST.

I agree, that they must provide the mattress. I went to a state school and we had mattresses in the dorms.

If you must buy one for some reason, Craigslist, and if you really can’t stomach used, Ikea has fair quality basic mattresses.
