<p>I'm from New York and not really a partyer/drinker but i'm interested in Clemson.
I was wondering what the atmosphere is like?
How many upperclassmen live in dorms?
What the party scene is like?
Involvement in Clubs?
How hard it is to meet people?
Etc. If anyone could fill me in thanks.</p>
<p>What's up man...I'm a fellow yankee, I'm from New Hampshire and I go to Clemson. Don't listen to that crap about how people down here supposedly hassle you for being a Yankee it's not true. The atmosphere is incredible. Most noticably for us Northeasterners is the weather, but it's a place where the academics are great, and the opportunities aplenty. The atmosphere also revolves greatly around the color orange, sports, and spirit. The pride we take in our school is incredible to witness. I just got back from our men's soccer game (we're #2 in the country) and it's just awesome...people running on the field after, not for destruction or anything, just sharing the love that is Solid Orange. I don't know about the upperclassmen question...a lot of upperclassmen seem to live off campus in apartments or houses. The clubs we have are also aplenty...intramurals are pretty insane whether you're intense about them or not, student gov, whatever you're into it's here. How hard is it to meet people? Not hard at all. Compared to up North, people here are much more open, willing to become friends with you, and approachable. Party Scene: pretty much dominated by frats- but don't view that as negative they're a good time. That probably doesn't apply to upperclassmen with houses and apartments etc, so if you made friends with them... Overall it's an awesome place to be, learn, and live. Everyone loves Clemson here, and being in that type of environment is great. Let me know if you have more questions man. Peace out</p>
<p>What's this I have read in southeastern newspapers about racial tensions at Clemson, U of Georgia and Auburn?</p>
<p>Read any paper in the US, and you'll find stories about racial tension there -- Cincinnati has had riots, white supremacist cults are all over the the northwest, Cali rocks on race</p>
