So I know that alot of transfers live in apartments because BU cannot guarantee housing for a transfer student. But I have alot of friends who go to BU and I have been told that alot of transfers are housed in the Hyatt Hotel 1st semester, then they are able to be moved to on-campus housing for their 2nd semester. Is there any truth to any of this? I would appreciate any information that anyone can give me about transfer housing!

They’re not using the Hyatt next year. I don’t know what this means for transfers. You should call housing and ask.

the past 2 years bu hasn’t housed transfers in the hyatt. call them

Right right…but they’re not using the Hyatt at all next year for any students. So I don’t know if transfers are going to have enough housing on campus for transfers too, or if they’re just going to continue the policy of no housing guarantee for transfers.

i’ve never read anywhere that housing is not guaranteed for transfer students that are applying for the fall (spring is a different story). i was told that they are put in the same pool as the freshman which makes sense because both freshman and transfers don’t receive their housing info until well into the summer.

No, for the last 2 years Transfers have not received housing and have had to find off-campus accomodations.
