I currently have an unweighted GPA of 3.25, and a weighted GPA of 3.791. However, this seemed extremely low considering that I have taken ONLY honors and AP core classes (English, Math, Science, HIstory), which I have done fairly well in. So, I asked for a copy of my transcript. When I added up all of my grades from 9-11, I am in the summer of my senior year, I got an average of 91. Therefore, it is very hard for me to understand why my GPA is so low. Can anyone tell me if it will be a problem? I would also like to know if colleges look more at your GPA or your actual grades? I am looking at colleges such as Howard, Morehouse, UNC Chapel Hill, and ECU.

I saw this on Yahoo Answers, too.

Those colleges don’t just care about GPA. If you have a solid academic record (good SAT score, plenty of extracurricular activities, volunteering), then you might still be accepted. The only way to know if it’s a problem is to apply and see if they accept you or decline.
