I am a student who is actually greatly on the rise. My grades have gone from, 3.1 freshman year, 3.2 sophomore year, 3.5 junior year, and so far a 3.66 senior year. I was deferred from BU, however, they didn’t receive my senior grades. In my case, should I consider this “good news hidden in bad news”? Thanks for your time
These grades are specific grades from those years, not cumulative. Freshman through Junior is a 3.3 cumulative. And these are unweighted, my weighted is better.
I mean it’s better than being denied. The continued upward trend is good but I doubt the senior year grades will change their minds if they were going to deny you.
First well done regarding your upward trend in grades! High school is a time of growth and students are really quite young when they begin and are adults when they leave. The point is to mature. I think you should take it as a good sign that you were deferred and not rejected. As you go through this process try to remember that each school is shaping their class. If you are accepted it will also have to do with the other applicants they receive and what they need to fill within each college and major. It will depend if it is a strong application year. What might be accepted one year, isn’t the next. Don’t take it too personally either way. With that begin said I hope you have already received some acceptances from other schools or have some safety in your pocket too. Good luck with BU!
Thank you for this information and I have been accepted to other schools so it’s all positivity from me!
Incase anyone sees this in the future. I got in so deferral doesn’t mean denied!
