Can chem labs be taken senior year? has anyone done that before?

chem 14bl/cl are not prerequisites for anything, right? so we can take them whenever..

I’m guessing that that’s not something smart to do, because you can’t declare your major, which will prevent you from taking many upper division classes(and if you’re in an impacted major, you’re in some deep trouble).

what do you mean I can’t declare a major? Chem labs ISN’T a prereq… O.o right?

hellogoodbye, I took most of my chem labs (30series) early on (2nd/3rd year) but, most of the other students taking them were primarily 3rd or 4th years. I think many students wait for later quarters because it’s easier to enroll in them with better class standing since those labs always fill up quickly. And, I as far as I can remember, they weren’t pre-reqs for anything (esp if you’re not a chem/biochem major - which I’m assuming you aren’t since you’re in the 14 series.)

And I think what iceblue was talking about in regards to not being able to declare a major is that for SOME majors, you can’t declare until you’ve completed all the lower division requirements. However, in my exeperience, that’s not usually the case with science majors and it’s really a non-issue if you’re already declared.
