I recently got my admission decision from ucf and it said that I am only eligible for summer term, i applied fall term, and that if I didn’t accept summer they wouldnt accept me at all. Does this mean that once my summer term is done i won’t go to fall term?
No, it just means you need to start in the summer. Congrats on your acceptance!
Oh really! Thanks. I got worried because i saw on other feeds that there’s said that in order for them to go to fall term they must do summer term or don’t get accepted. So when I saw that mine only said summer or no deal i panicked. @Trisherella
No. Summer is when you begin. The term you are accepted for is the one you begin in. No college will offer you just a summer semester.
whew so I’m definetly be able to go to fall term as well even if it didn’t say so? @HRSMom
It’s just a given. You should call them tomorrow and talk to them about it. It will make you feel better! Their new student info says you have to sign up for the semester admitted or your admission is revoked. That just means if you are admitted for summer, you can’t skip summer and start in fall. Some schools do spring admissions too, meaning starting next spring.
ok thank you so much , i’ll definitely call them tm @HRSMom
Are you admitted to the Access or Pegasus programs? Or just summer starting? Also, if you are dealing with housing, they may give you a room in summer you stay in the fall and spring too!
I don’t need housing since a friend lives near there, and no I have not been admitted to access or pegasus programs what is that?
They are like a prep program when they think the applicant just needs more help up front to be successful. Also just a starting point. Sounds like you just are admitted to begin Summer then!
so I can’t do fall term? @HRSMom
You BEGIN in summer. It is just them saying you must matriculate in summer, not in the fall like many others. Lots of kids would rather not start in summer and would say no. That is why they say take it or leave it.
I have never heard of a summer admission for just one semester. That would just be a summer program or summer camp.
I read on their website they make all students earn at least 9 credits in a summer session at some point in their 4 years. So yours is at the beginning. (Sounds like they have so many students they need to spread them out through the summers too!)
Oh ok thank you @HRSMom
