i am deciding what to take next semester before i apply to uw -madison. i have basically taken a class in every major subject (sceince, math, arts, history etc) and i am unsure of what to take next semester. can you guys tell me what classes you took and which semesters? thanks!!

im specifically asking those who sucessfully transfered, but anyone is welcome to share their class loads.

You need a foreign language class. It’s one of the classes many schools require/recommends transfers to have. Also English, but I assumed you already did that.

I haven’t transfer yet, but this is how my transcript will look by the time I apply this Fall:

First semester seminar
English, College Composition
English, World Literature
Math, College Algebra
Natural Science, Biology
Social Science, Intro to Political Sci (MAJOR)
Social Science, Economics
Social Science, Psychology
Social Science, Spanish Culture
Communications, Public Speaking
Foreign Language, Spanish I
Foreign Language, Spanish II
Arts, Acting I
Arts, Spanish Art

I have a bunch of Spanish related classes because I’m going to studying abroad in Spain, next semester.

I don’t know, but a lot of schools I’ve researched either require a foreign language course or recommends it. What school(s) are you looking at?

Winter quarter:

History Honors (A-)
Business calculus 2 (A)
Microeconomics (A-)
Spanish 102 (A)

Spring Quarter:

Spanish 103

GPA: 3.81

6 honors courses, 3 language courses, 2 300 level courses, 3 math courses (although without trig). I’m hoping my course-load is “rigorous” but that’s not for me to decide.

I was admitted for junior transfer from a notoriously bad public 4-year university in Michigan to the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, which is similar in rankings to UW-Madison. Here’s my course schedule over the past two years; hope it’ll help! :)

alright thanks guys, what schools are u guys all interested in BTW?

im signing up for classes next semester and there isnt that much to chose from…there are classes like “earth and geology” level 200, “nutrition and disease” level 200 but they just dont sound like "really rigorious " classes at all, but they are the highest level non major courses available

ziggy, what’s your major? Your spring semester looks eerily like mine (well, despite the fact that I took Diff Eq before Calc III and I’m taking Quantum because I took E&M last year).

Also, my course load has been a lot, but a lot of it is because I want to dual major in math/physics. At my current school I already qualify for a math minor (majoring in physics) but I’m looking to transfer (and am actually looking to maybe get a minor in biophysics).

I think you should take classes that seem difficult and make it look like they’re hard but you know you can get a good grade in (something like Linear Algebra for me).

And my two top schools for transfer are USC and NYU (both much better than my current school Clarkson Univeristy).
