I am an entering freshman at a college in the fall, where I plan to work really hard my first year. Is it possible to apply as a transfer to another college but enter as a freshman? (Providing them with transcripts from high school and 1 year of college). I just really wouldn’t want to miss out on the experience and social bonding of being a freshman.
(Note: I don’t fully intend on transferring, I just want to know the option is there in case I need it)
Whether you are classified as a freshman would depend on that college’s definition and how many credits you earn. Most likely not if you take 15 credit per semester.
An exception is the service academies, where you’d enter as a freshman even if you have earned college credit.
In general, no. But each college sets its own rules.
Some schools have transfer-specific guaranteed housing, seminars, etc so you can have a “freshman” experience again.
You can just take 4 years to graduate if someone is willing to pay for it. But you might not be able to live in a freshman dorm, depending on how the school handles housing.
