I'm was going to ask my councilor and 2 school teachers for the letters, but i heard that the students who graduated that school can also write them (not school teacher). Is this also possible, and would it help??

If this person knows you well, as a teacher or coach might, and can speak honestly to your ability, integrity, and potential, then yes, it is appropriate. If the person does not know you well, then it will be a wasted opportunity to submit a sincere, believable reccomendation. The connection is nice, but only use it if they know you well.

Like blue said: it’s not about if you know a willing alumus: it’s whether that person knows you. That’s the purpose of recommendations: to convey info about you – not whom you and your family have befriended.

I’d rather have a person who didn’t graduate college at all write an in depth rec letter for me rather than an alumnus who barely knows me.

Ummm, no? Recommendation letters have to be written by 2 teachers who have taught you in the past 2 years. Unless you want to submit a supplemental recommendation or a peer evaluation sheet, then and only then can you use the alum.
