Can I boost 100-200 points in CR/WR in just one week?

So apparently I did pretty bad (Not bad, average but I was expecting a bit more to be honest) in May so I've got one more chance next week.
I'm done with school where abouts I live so I'm free, plus I'm travelling right after I take my SAT next Saturday so fun isn't really that important for me right now.
In other words, I'll be studying my arse off (Hard core studying) -
I got an 8 on my essay and I was surprised since I never wrote that much and never really put a lot of effort into it, just used good examples.
But after reading the "How to get a 12 essay in just 10 days" I definitely believe I could get at least a 10 on my essay now.
I'm alright with Math, I always get unlucky with a few questions though but I believe I can still do it.
So who thinks I could do it? I'm about to buy the BB 2011 edition I believe, and study/practice about 4 hours a day (maybe more since I did about 5 hours today and I could study more right now) for a whole week, is it possible? Any advice would be useful since I pretty much read almost every post on these forums (Still new).

DEFINITELY follow that essay guide. My essay went from an 8 to an 11. For writing, I would recommend reading the quick grammar guide that someone has posted (it’s stickied) and doing a bunch of practice tests. There are only so many silly tricks they can try to fool you with. For CR, I just did a bunch of practice tests, but my score only went up 20 points, to a 700. My writing went up 150 points to an 800, so it is definitely do-able. Best of luck!

Thanks for the tip and meh you seem a lot smarter than I am xD

For CR make sure you have a solid strategy and you can run it effectively. That’s about all you can do in the short term. It’s the hardest section to improve on short term.

Writing, study grammar rules and do practice tests and make sure you have good examples. Remember, quantity!

Actually, I don’t have neither solid strategies nor writing examples =/
If you have/know any please do let me know (PM me or something)
thanks :)

For CR, I would say just keep your cool. It does require you to look for deeper meaning in things, but don’t get befuddled. If you start feeling lost, just take a step back from that question and look at the bigger picture. If that doesn’t work just guess or move on.

Also, don’t second guess yourself too much. It’s OK to check your answers, but flip flopping on your answers will destroy your confidence on the next questions.

I think a 100 pt. boost is definitely do-able. I took my SAT for the first time in May. My PSAT and practice tests all hovered around 650, but I ended up with 750 on the test.

Just keep calm, and keep track of where you are in the section. You don’t want to waste time on a confusing question when there are easier questions ahead.

Good Luck!
