I took the SATs for the first time in March, and got a 1920 composite, 580 math, 650 writing (7 on essay), and 690 writing. My parents want me to apply to a bunch of ivy leagues, but I'm realistically looking at Duke, Amherst, and MAYBE Brown/Dartmouth/UPenn.

Math has always been my weak point on the tests. I think what really brought me down though, was I guessed too much. I only skipped 5-7 questions on the entire math section and maybe 3-4 total in the other areas.

Critical Reading is very easy for me, I know with some practice I can get above a 700 there. I also got an almost perfect score in the multiple choice on writing, it's mainly the essay that killed me.

Basically, does anyone have tips on how I can raise my score by 200+ points? With regard mainly to the essay and math section? Thanks a ton <3
