Can I change my essay after it has been sent to CMU ?

Well after two revisions on the common app essay. i changed my essay to another one. But then i realized my original essay was better. So when i wanted to change it for the last time. Due to an unfortunate error, my essay was locked. And as the deadline was like a day away. I sent my application. Later i notified common app about this error and they granted me one last edit for the essay, so i can change that essay back to my original one.

The essay i sent is really good, but my original essay is far more better.

Is it possible for me to call Carnegie Mellon and tell them this and ask them to change my essay? Do you think that is a good idea ?

  1. You can't change it (I haven't heard of ANYONE EVER getting that liberty).
  2. It's a bad idea (as a prospective college student applying to such a prestigious school, you are expected to have done serious revisions before clicking the Submit button).

I agree. You’ve had months to write, edit and hone your essays. You look foolish at this point if you are trying to change them. Don’t call attention to your insecurities.

alright its fine… its not like the world is going to end. That essay is actually pretty good. And Im not saying i procrastinated im saying it was the technical errors by the common app itself.
